About DDD Warrior

I’m not here because I have it all figured out.

I’m here because I decided it was time to rebuild.

I’m Paul Holmberg—a husband, dad, blue-collar worker, and a man living with degenerative disc disease.
DDD Warrior started because I got tired of feeling stuck.
Tired of letting pain, bad habits, low energy, extra weight, and everyday struggles keep me from becoming the man I knew I could be.

For years, I kept waiting for the perfect time to change.
Then I realized there wasn’t one.

So I decided to start laying bricks.
One day at a time.
One decision at a time.
One disciplined daily action at a time.

I’m still in the trenches.

I’m still doing the work.

And if you’re ready to start rebuilding too, welcome to DDD Warrior.

The Wake-Up Call

For me, the wake-up call came in 2012.
Back pain had been a part of my life since my early twenties,
but one morning I woke up and couldn’t get out of bed.

The pain was so bad that my wife had to help me up.
She helped me get to the car and helped me walk into the doctor’s office.
That was the day I was diagnosed with degenerative disc disease.

At the time, I didn’t know much about DDD.
I just knew something had to change.

Over the years, I tried a lot of different things looking for relief.
Medications.
Chiropractic care.
Physical therapy.
Anything that might help me get my life back.

Some things helped.
Some didn’t.

But looking back, this story isn’t really about DDD.

It’s about what happens when life forces you to confront the fact that something has to change.

Maybe for you it wasn’t DDD.
Maybe it was chronic pain.
Maybe it was a health scare.
Maybe it was a divorce.
Maybe it was debt.
Maybe it was a loss of confidence.
Or maybe you simply woke up one day sick and tired of being sick and tired.

Whatever the reason, most of us eventually reach a moment where we have to make a decision.

Do we stay where we are?

Or do we start rebuilding?

What I Learned

For years, I kept looking for the thing that would finally change my life.
The thing that would make everything easier.
The thing that would fix the problem.

What I Eventually Learned

What I eventually learned was that nobody was coming to save me.
Not a doctor.
Not a supplement.
Not a diet.
Not a workout program.
Not a motivational video.

The responsibility to rebuild my life was mine.

That Wasn’t Bad News

It was actually freeing.
Because if I was responsible for where I was, then I could also be responsible for where I was going.

What I discovered was that lasting change doesn’t happen overnight.
It happens through small actions repeated consistently over time.

Better habits.
Better decisions.
Better thinking.
Better nutrition.
Better leadership.
Better discipline.

Every small improvement becomes a foundation for the next one.
Not all at once.
Not overnight.

One DDA.

One Brick.

One Day At A Time.

Why I Created DDD Warrior

I created DDD Warrior because I wasn’t happy with where I was in life.
I’m tired of being overweight.
I’m tired of struggling with my finances.
I’m tired of letting bad habits hold me back.
I’m tired of settling for less than I know I’m capable of becoming.

I Knew Something Had To Change

I’m tired of going to work, coming home, going to bed, and repeating the same cycle day after day.
I know I can become more.
More as a husband.
More as a father.
More as a leader.
More as a man.

I’m Still In The Trenches

The truth is, I’m still in the trenches.
I’m not writing this from the finish line.
I’m writing it from the middle of the fight.
DDD Warrior isn’t something I created after transforming my life.
DDD Warrior is something I created because I’m trying to transform my life.

If Nobody Ever Joined

If nobody ever joined DDD Warrior, I’d still be doing the work.
I’d still be laying bricks.
I’d still be trying to become a little better than I was yesterday.
I’d still be rebuilding.
The movement is bigger than me, but it started with me making a decision to change my own life.

Why I Share The Journey

I simply decided to share the journey in case someone else wanted to walk the path with me.
